ECAC Announces 2022 Division III Bowl Game Pairings

DANBURY, Conn – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced via a live selection show the matchups for the 2022 ECAC Division III Bowl Games.

The eight teams selected by the ECAC Division III Football Committee to participate are SUNY Brockport (7-3), Fairleigh Dickinson University – Florham (6-4), Grove City College (7-3), Hobart College (7-3), Morrisville State (7-3), Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (7-3), Washington and Jefferson College (8-2) and Westminster College (PA) (7-3). The games will take place on Nov. 19 at campus sites.

James Baker and Frank Rossi announced the games, breaking down each matchup and what to be watching for this coming Saturday. The list of the matchups and where teams are going can be seen below.

The Asa S. Bushnell Bowl will feature Hobart College (7-3) traveling to Washington and Jefferson College (8-2)

In the Clayton Chapman Bowl Westminster College (7-3) will travel to SUNY Brockport (7-3)

The Scotty Whitelaw Bowl will feature Morrisville State (7-3) traveling to RPI (7-3)

The James Lynah Bowl will pair FDU – Florham (6-4) traveling to Grove City College (7-3)

Grove City will make an ECAC Bowl appearance for the fourth straight time after having defeated Utica in 2021, RPI in 2019 and Morrisville State in 2018. Morrisville State appears again for the first time since 2019 when they defeated Westminster in the Clayton Chapman Bowl. RPI also returns after making a run to the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2021. Hobart College looks to make its back-to-back bowl wins in the Asa S. Bushnell Bowl, having defeated Westminster on the road in 2021.

Westminster College looks to add another ECAC bowl to their cabinet for the first time since 2019 after having lost in the Asa S. Bushnell Bowl last year. FDU – Florham makes conecutive bowl appearances after defeating Saint Vincent in 2021 in the James Lynah Bowl. Brockport also returns to a bowl game in back-to-back years, being no strangers to the ECAC Bowl Series. Washington and Jefferson are making a second all-time appearance in the Asa. S. Bushnell Bowl after having previously defeated Ithaca College on the road in 2019.
